Hello people of Deviantart!
I hope you are doing ok. First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your lovely birthday wishes, and I would like to specially thank Sarah (Gnewi) for this AMAZING birthday gift:

Happy Birthday, Tanya!! by Gnewi

She just captured Anne to perfection! I can't thank you enough dear, it's perfect!

Commissions are closed until further notice, thank you so much!
:heart::heart:

On another hand, I would like to tell you that I'm opening some special Bust commissions. Money has been a bit tight lately for me and my family, I have to pay for my diploma, cover some other expenses (grown up life is tough xD) and my TA salary is almost nonexistant (in my country this kind of job is usually done ad honorem, they don't expect you to live with what they pay you), but I cannot quit because it's still an oportunity to start working at an university.

This is why I'll open ten slots for color busts like this one, which are 100% digital but have a watercolor feeling :D, at $15 USD each, $10 if your order two or more!
Rubies flew like drops of blood by fee-absinthe
There is no limit on the amount of busts you may commission. No background included, but you can ask for a wash of color of your choice.

Once I've finished the first ten, I'll open another then slots and see what happens :D If you are interested please contact me via note. I accept only paypal payment :B
As the idea is to finish them as quickly as possible and start a new batch, there will be no preliminary sketch or whatsoever D: That's why I hope that anyone who's interested sends me as many references as possible, visual or literary.

Thank you in advance for your interest and support! If you won't or cannot order a commission right now, I'd really appreciate if you could spread the word.

Tanya

UPDATE:
Dear Commissioners,
Unfortunately, the flu arrived at my home last week and it has been impossible for me to go to work or even draw. Me and my brother were both sick and had a terrible week. But, all commissions (except mirz333's, who just sent me her references) are almost finished and today I don't have much fever so I hope to have everything ready by sunday! I'm so sorry for the delay but working on the computer just wasn't an option T^T
*Hugs*

Tanya
-------------

Hello dear friends, watchers and random deviants.

I won't bother you with too much useless information about myself, I can only say: I'm great. I'm back at my new apartment, with my brother as always. I'm also about to start a three-semester Diploma on Curatorial Studies as a complement to my degree, which I'm really looking forward to. *But* this diploma is only two afternoons a week, and besides my job as assistant teacher at the University (which is also only two mornings a week), I'm *almost *jobless :dummy:

But I have bills to pay... So, this is why I decided to open commissions full time (or at least until all slots are taken). I can work from home, manage my time mysef, and it is compatible with what I'm already doing. I'd appreciate if you're not interested/can't commission at the time, please spread the word :D

Thank you, and take care!

And, I'm back!

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 1, 2014, 11:49 AM

After a long hiatus and a bunch of intense stuff that happened in my life, I can finally say: I'm back, dA. This time I promise: I'll behave, I won't escape, no storm will make my fly away. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating xD So, a happy new year to all of you, my dearest friends and watchers!

I must say, this year was... Crazy. A year ago, I was taking care of my grandfather after finishing a relationship with my boyfriend for seven years, then, my last year at the university started and it was SO difficult to keep up... August... Well, I guess that it was really hard to find the strength to carry on, work, finish my last semester, finish my Thesis... To recieve my fine arts degree there was one last thing I had to do: plan an exhibition and deffend that damn thesis: I did it three days ago. It was good, It wasn't perfect but I passed with merits (you can pass, pass with merits and pass with "maximum merits"...). So, I'm a Fine Arts Graduate, currently unemployed and enjoying it! xD :iconhappyderpplz:

So, as a crowning jewel, my grandmother and I went to Europe for Christmas. We didn't want to be at home because is was... Well, painful, so we decided to travel. I could tell you a thousand things but it would take a lifetime, let's say that I spent a LOT of time in art galleries and museums; I went to Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy, and spent the best three days of the trip with my dearest Elyra-Coacalina in Paris.

If you had any doubts before, I confirm: that girl is an angel. We had the best time together, it was as if we had known each other for much longer! She and her boyfriend recieved me in her home, introduced me to french cuisine (and Mathieu to french wines and Hydromiel xD). And as if it weren't enough, she prepared the greatest souvenir: a nightime photoshoot in Paris! You have probably seen a few of the pics in her gallery :la: I'll upload a few more soon! It was dreamy, as all the time we spent together... Even the fact that her chinchilla, 42, enjoyed stealing my croissants, was cute xD. You were my parisian fairy godmother dear, and as I said: you have a home here south of the world!

And well, now I'm back at home, I'm staying with my grandma so my internet connection sucks (she lives in an old country house in our family's farm). I had almost forgotten what it was like to draw the things I enjoyed and not what I had to do for the university, read dantasy novels instead of papers and art theory... So let's say I'm indulging myself with lazyness for a while...

I have to say sorry to all of you for my absence, also to those whose commissions had to be delayed, to the friends I didn't send any notes... I suck, I know, but this year I promise to be nice and responsible. That's why I have to keep up with a few things I left pending from last year, and I want some time to draw a few gifts for my friends, so I need you, honorable watchers, to remind me a few things...

WHO DO I OWE SOME ARTSSS? Prizes, compensations?
:dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy::dummy:

I have a mess in my note inbox and I'm a bit confused, so I'd appreciate if you told me here in a comment, and then I'll write you a note! I promised a few compensations as well for the delays, so don't be shy and LET MEH KNOW! I believe that at least Amaethil, Angiepureheart  and Freyad-Dryden haven't recieved their watcher's lottery prizes. To Feariel and KisaraelElementum I promised some portraits, but I can't remember anything else. Would you be so kind to let me know the details via note, or comment here? :D

And once I'm finished with all that, I'll open commissions again because... Well... When you're still a student your parents help you a little but they expect me to start being independent xD So next year I'll be taking commissions fulltime, at least until I get a formal job. I'll still be working as assistant teacher in a Middle-Age Christian Art class and in Art History, but the University doesn't pay a lot for assistance x_X (actually, it's just enough to pay public transport for a month xD).

Anyway, it's been quite a long post already, so: the biggest hug for all of you! I'll be reporting again soon! xD

Dearest watchers,
I'm getting close to both numbers and I'd really like to celebrate and thank you for all the support.

I decided that I'm doing both a raffle and a kiriban catch, but only FOR ACTIVE WATCHERS. I don't want to pointlessly increase the number of pageviews because random deviants try to catch the kiriban. The idea is to offer prizes for those who have encouraged me this last few years. I'd give someting to each of you but I wouldn't be able to finish. So, by active watcher I mean:

:bulletblue: You have to be a watcher (duh :B)
:bulletblue: I should remember you from somewhere, either comments, critiques, commissions, faves, contest entries, etc. (I have this really good memory, so I'll know, just leave your comment xD)

We don't have to be friends, but it's important for me that only those who are really interested participate.
You can win both at the raffle and the kiriban!

Dearest dA friends and watchers:

I'd like to thank you so uch for all your lovely birthday wishes and gifts! You are the best!
It was a lovely day: I'm in my hometown so I organized a costume party with my childhood friends. I decided to be Daenerys Targaryen xD

The wig was cheap so it doesn't look as good as it should, but I loved how the dress turned out (I did it myself :3) It was a lot of sewing, but as you know I'm quite crafty. I may do a photoshoot soon, I'm looking for a location to shoot it *_* I hope to find a better wig on ebay before we do it anyway.

The party was a success. Afterwards, on Sunday, I had lunch with my mom and brother and in the afternoon I visited my dad and his wife. I ended my birthday tour a my grandparents' house, because I'm helping my grandma with my grandad because the nurse is sick D: But all in all, it was a lovely day.

Anyway, I thank you all again

Tagged!

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 23, 2013, 5:04 PM

Like... Years ago I was tagged by sweet Gnewi and never answered... Now, I find myself in my last week of summer vacations and FINALLY have time xD I've played Dragon Age (Origins and II... AGAIN), I've drawn a lot, and spent some quality time with my grandpa who, even while his health isn't better, he isn't as depressed as during this previous months and is a bit his old cheerful self, despite the situation. I have one week until I travel back to Santiago and the University starts on March 6th T_T My last year tough, thank the heavens xDDDD

So, going back to where I started, these were Gnewi's questions:

1. If you could be any superhero, who would it be and why?
I always wanted to be a mutant from X-Men *-* Any mutant, I don't care, from wings to telepathy... I'm not sure I like one superhero in particular, because I don't know if I would fit into their respective characters, but I feel like I'd be a good mutant. I'd love to have a power related to nature, the elements... Because I'm such a tree-hugger xD

2. If you could meet any fictional character (book or movie) who would it be and why?
Nynaeve from the Wheel of Time. Why? Because she is amazing. She is kind, passionate, caring, incredibly powerful and a badass!

3. If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?
Hmmm... Cross the Atlantic ocean and solve some things. Cannot say much :P

4. Your biggest pet peeve is?
MOTHS!

5. What is your favorite commercial?
I love movie trailers, any trailer xD

6. If you had to enter a competition for the "Most Uselessly Unique Talent," what would your talent be?
Fastest bowel function on a human being. Period. xD

7. If you could plan your ultimate vacation, where would you go?
Travel around Europe and visit every single museum!

8. If you were on death row, what would your last meal be?
My grandma's roasted goose with apple mousse.

9. If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
Broadway Actress!!!! I love musicals and singing xD

10. What is your best scar? And how did you get it?
My burn scar! It's the best because I thought (and the doctors also did) that it would cover a third of my arm and, thanks to this incredible nurse and natural treatments, it is only a square inch or so.

So, these are my questions:

1. Favourite book/movie from your childhood.
2. Childhood hero/heroine, fictional or real.
3. Best memory from your childhood.
4. Scariest moment in your life!
5. The most embarrassing thing that happened to you in highschool!
6. If you could be any villain, which one would you be and why?
7. If you could be allmighty for five minutes, what would you do?
8. If you knew you would die in a week, is there anything you regret not doing?
9. Your guiltiest pleasure.
10. Tell me a secret ;D

Alive!

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 19, 2013, 1:34 PM

Hello watchers!

First of all, I must apologize for my long absence. Unfortunately, some things are not going so good in my family. My granfather has cancer and that required me to travel back home in the first days of December. I had to move ahead my finals and work at the speed of light to finish everything and come back here. And since then I've spent my days in my grandparent's farm, helping my grandmother with the house and helping her take car of my grandpa. Because of this I could barely work or draw. And internet sucks here, we're in a farm and 3g signal is awful (I use my mobile phone as a wifi modem xD)

Anyway, I have taken a few days off to go to the beach and see my friends, and being with family, though tiring sometimes, is good. All my little cousins are a bit of a pain in the ass but, well, it's not THAT bad xD. The weather is horribly hot in here, my hometown is usually cold and rainy but this year we have had temperatures of 30°C and more.

I have read a lot, though, I bought a kindle for christmas (a gift to me from myself xD) and I've spent the days reading. I read the first two books of the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, I read A Dance with Dragons and , finally, A Memory of Light, the final book of the Wheel of Time series. I was depressed for like three days after finishing it, but I loved the book, seriously, a great ending for a great saga.

Apart from that, there's nothing much to tell. I still have a month and a few weeks of vacations until I start my classes again. It is my final year *-*

I still have to finish one commission and some free artwork, but after that I plan to open commissions again n.n These days I have less work to do at home so, I expect to have more time to draw and paint.

I hope you've all been alright, neither melting nor freezing in your respective countries :D

Lots of love!!

Tanya

This week adventures

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 17, 2012, 2:21 PM

In the land of Drake and Moby Dick

This week/end has been… Something between amazing and scary as fuck xD Even bad news couldn't get me down.
Everything started last Thursday when I took a bus home, thinking about spending a lazy weekend at my dad and mom's places, draw, paint, read and work on my commissions because I'm really late and the university is keeping me so busy >.<
But well, the thing is, my dad picked me up Friday morning and told me he had some plans for the weekend. He wanted to go pick up my step sister (who studies some ingeneering-thing related to nature conservacy) who was on this island. Well, I live in a country where there are LOTS of islands where you usually arrive via ferry or ship or something, but they are usually CLOSE to the shore. Anyway, the thing is, he told me then the island wasn't as near as I thought and that we had to take this light plane. I freaked out. I hate airplanes, big ones, small ones, and well, we all know that light airplanes have a nasty reputation…  But my dad had planned this all week and my stepmom gave me this defying look and I couldn't refuse xD…

In the end, it was wonderful. The flight was scary and the airplane was old and the security was far from good, but the Mocha Island was really beautiful. It has this ancient forest, lovely beaches and an old lighthouse… Unfortunately I don't have any pics because  I have no camera, but if you're interested, just google "Isla Mocha" xD

So, that's why I have been absent until today. We were back yesterday and I stayed at my dad's, so I had no internet until today. I'm really sorry I couldn't work on commissions, but I'll work like mad this weekend to compensate, I promise!
Well, my islander adventures are not the only news. I wasn't given the grant I told you about :c So no Europe this year. I'm still saving though and I hope I can go next year ;D I was a Little depressed at first but then I was like… Daaaah who cares I'll figure out something else xD I'm feeling optimistic these days :3

I'm glad to promote lovely raka-raka's new mini CHA-llenge ;DDDDDD

Personal news

Hello guys!! :dummy:

First of all, I must thank you again for all yout kind wishes and comments about Jackie! You rock!! :la: He is much better now, he already gained more weight than what he lost because of the Parvo and is playing, jumping, eating and running like mad. Just his usual hyperactive self again. I'm so very happy. After losing Rex last year I couldn't imagine what losing Jack would mean to us, but fortunately, everything went alright!
But lesson learned, I'll never wait again for a vaccine, not even a week!

Anyway, I've been alright, apart from my allergies, that kill me during spring. I just got home from the hospital because I had to get a long lasting steroid shot for allergic rhinitis ¬¬ My right buttock hurts!!! xD But apart from that everything's ok. As usual, lots of work at the university (I have this huge medieval history test on friday which I thought was next week but it WASN'T and I have to read so much T_T).

I'm also re-reading the wheel of time series, while I wait for A Memory of Light... January seems so far away!!! While I do so, maybe you'll se some portraits of the characters ;D I'm feel really atisfied with the results, it seems I can finally draw and paint the characters as they look in my head :D

There are some good news! I applied to a grant given by the German Government to international students who want to "polish" their german in a university :fingerscrossed: Mine is a bit rusty since I left school. When I was little we used to speak more at home but now we just forgot that custom xD The grant awards it's reciever with money for airplane tickets, stay and the advanced german course (which in my case would be in Freiburg or Kassel). The fun thing is, apart from travelling and learning of course, that I plan to make a little trip to some nearby countries like France and maybe Italy or Spain after the course ends, on February, if i'm awarded with the grant! They should call me with the results during October, so let's cross our fingers!! >w<

Commissions [Closed]

I also uploaded a new commission information chart! I added a sketch option in case you're interested, and a detailed painting option which is a bit expensive but it's A LOT of work D: So Sketches are $10 USD, Monochrome Speedpaint Portraits are still $15 USD, and the detailed pieces, $30.

In case you have something else other than portraits in mind (a drawing or a fullbody or something) feel free to note me and ask, but I'd like to mainly work on paintings while I leave drawing for my sketchbook project.

:thumb330179347:

For now I'll open 3 slots , I have 3 commissions on my working list and some freebies to finish but they shouldn't take much longer, so you won't need to wait that much :3

Thank you again for all the support and interest!

Love & hugs!

Tanya

Prayers needed - NEWS! :D

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 23, 2012, 2:49 PM

24/09/2012
A small update! Jack is feeling much better today! He didn't need an IV, he ate chicken and rice soup and he is more like his usual hyperactive self *_* I'm just so happy! My mom is treating him with homeopathy (and her boyfriend helped Jack with some Reiki, we're such a mystic family xD) and the vet is still giving him some antibiotics to prevent any infection, and with meds to prevent vomits or diarrhea. She told us that he'll probably feel better from now on, that the worse days (the first four) just passed and that he looks healthy enough to recover without any sequels!

Thank you so much for all your kind wishes, I know they helped! :tighthug: And thank you Angiepureheart for all the advice on Homeopathy, you're a life saver

23/09/2012
Uff, it's been a long day. I don't know if you remember, but last year me and my family lost a member, our dog Rex. He had Cancer and his vet didn't diagnose it quickly enough. It was really hard and we miss him so much... But a month ago we decided to adopt a stray puppy, a lovely 2 month old dalmatian mix who's usually really hiperactive. He lives at my mom's, of course (I live in a really small apartment xD) and keeps her company with my cat (who kinda hates him xD). We named him Jack

Unfortunately, he's really sick. We took him to the vet Three days ago to vaccinate him and the vet told us he had a little fever, so she couldn't vaccinate him. She said it was probably an intoxication and gave him some meds and told us to come next day (he ate some meat and bones because we took him to my grandma's house a few days ago and we made a barbecue and my little cousins gave him some bones). The next day he ate only a little soup (he couldn't eat pellets) and the vet told us to wait, but she gave him some antibiotics (because of the fever) and something for the pain. Me and my brother had to come back to the uni (we live 800 km away from our mother) and she took charge of the situation, taking him to the vet yesterday. He didn't have any fever but he still had not eaten anything and we were really worried about him, because he was becoming weaker and weaker each day. He had vomits and a little diarrhea and the vet told us it could be Parvovirus :c

My mom was supposed to get him to the vet for his vaccines (because we were far away from home) but she works a lot and kept putting it back... It was irresponsible, I know, and I keep teeling myself I should have taken him to the vet the very day he arrived, but a friend of mine is a veterinary student and he gave him his antiparasitic dose and told us to take him to the veterinary hospital for his vaccines... And two days later I had to travel away...! But I can't blame my mother, she has been the best with him and she really has little time. I feel so guilty because Parvo is a really complicated virus... Even with treatment, the chance of surviving is not high...
He is not so weak though (stray puppies are much stronger than those with pedigree) but he hasn't eaten anything but the saline solution the vet gave him yesterday and today.

I have been praying for him all day, and, well, I think that whatever you believe in, any god or just... Energy, I think that any kind of prayer is always welcome and, together with good wishes and thoughts, they help a lot. So if you have a minute, a little prayer for my lovely Jackie is much appreciated. I really wish I could be home instead of here, with him...

Anyway, I'll try to distract myself with some work and a bit of study. You can see the commission status below, I have still one slot in case any of you is interested c: (There will be bills to help with, so I better start working...)

Many hugs, and take care!

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 30, 2012, 10:22 AM
Hello guys!
I'm really sorry for my absence this last few weeks. A new semester started at the university and there's loooots of work to do, but also some really good illustration projects that I hope to be able to share with you during this months *-*  I also had to visit the hospital a few more times for tests and stuff, but fortunately, it's no Celiac Disease (beer and bread, come to meeeeeeh! xD) nor Crohn's, but just a really, really mean Irritable Bowel Syndrome, so I'm really happy it wasn't something worse. About my life, I can tell I started Irish Dance lessons two weeks ago, and I love it! It's a bit exhausting, probably because I have not moved a finger in years and I'm anything but fit, and my stamina sucks, but after five lessons I've improved a lot xDDDDDDD
Aaand, nothing much, just study and that kind of stuff.

Anyway, I'm really sorry I didn't answer your comments and notes before :3 I'll do it riiight away

Thank you + Sketchbook

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 18, 2012, 6:33 PM
Hello
Thank you so much for all your concerns and understanding! I'm much better now, keeping up with commissions, work and the university :la:
Winter vacations start on 6th July and I reaaaally want to go home for a while, enjoy the cold winter by the fire and the rain xDDD. Bad luck keeps following me though. I had a mole removed in my right foot, and it seems it had some pre-cancer cells or something like that, so they had to remove all the surrunding tissue AGAIN, and I have this huge cut full of stitches xDDD But I'm ok, I'm ok. I have a little trouble walking but  it's good the mole was removed in time :3 No more sun for me, though.

I have some really good news! I got my first serious job as an illustrator! (meaning with an editorial xD) I'm illustrating some universal literature fragments for an antology. I may show some parts of what I did once it is ready. And I'm also helping illustrate a children's schoolbook, but I only draw little icons and stuff so it's no big deal xD
I also illustrated a little book by myself as a school assignment, all handmade of course, but it came out really beautiful. Bookbinding is hard as hell, but it was worth it! My teacher still has it so once I have it in my power I'll take some pics. I might submit some of the illustrations as deviations as well!
And of course, where there's good there's bad. My tablet died, I'm using a friend's now but I'm having a new one as a birthday present :3 An Intuos 5  I'm so excited!!! It seems that using a bad tablet made my tendonitis worse D:

Well, there is something else I'd like to share with you:
:thumb309228811:

Before the tendonitis stuff I had been drawing some random sketches and situations about the story I'm working on, Sirens and Leviathans, and I have had this idea of a sketchbook for a long time. So I decided I'm gonna make it!

I want to work on a comic in the future but this would tell some part of the past plus some details of the history and culture of the places, and of course, random facts and the stories of the characters :3 I have about 10 pages finished and lots of text and random drawings (people and places, as well as maps!) that need to be arranged, and I hope it to be around 60 or 70, all black and white (shades of grey, actually) but the cover and a set of bookmarks will be in full color. I hope to have it finished by October or November :la:

What do you think? Tell me everything! Would you buy it, do you like the layout...? I trust you, my lovely watchers  I don't know yet how much will it cost me to print it so I can't speak about prices yet. And the text will probably need some corrections xDDD

Well, I hope you're all doing great!

Tanya

Ask Me Anything!

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 9, 2012, 7:12 PM
I wanted to show off the journal skin  Thanks to Gasara for the background and always helpful tutorials!!

And about the asking thing... No, the idea's not mine xD I saw it in some journal entries from other deviants ^^;  But I thought it would be interesting to see what questions you may ask me.  Feel free to ask anything you want; or course, I won't answer anything that's too personal xD It can be about my work or myself, anything you feel like asking!

Q&A

:iconnaay-atsuara: asked (translated xD):
:bulletblack:For how long have you been drawing? (Seriously, no "when I was three I drew this gorgeous little bunny...!" thing)
I have drawn since I can remember. I love doing things with my hands, any crafts, from cooking to knitting, and drawing was no exception, yet only since 2009-10 I took it seriously. I studied three semesters in Law school before realizing I loved art, and now I'm studying Arts (it is a theoric/practic degree).

:bulletblack:How did you come up with Sirens & Leviathans? Any particular inspiration?
Everything started as an online role playing chronicle on a Forum with some friends. I created the background story and world, and we got to play a little but it didn't prosper because we were all too busy. In time I decided to develop the story and, why not, draw it's characters. In the future I'd love to make a sketchbook and then a comic. I really like writing but I'm having a hard time translating what I have D:
I inspired myself both in history and fantasy. Colonialism and piracy are both part of my own country's culture and we grew up with stories like that. Amerindian cultures, Mayan civilization and the Byzantine Empire have also been a source of inspiration for this world's aesthetics, and well known miths and creatures have also inspired me.

:bulletblack:Drawing Music?
My musical taste is very colorful xD
I love metal of any kind, specially folk/viking/celtic stuff. I also listen to epic music such as Thomas Bergensen's or Two Steps from Hell xD I like oldies, classics and pop. Recently I've been listening a lot to Florence and the Machine *_*

:bulletblack:What kind of tablet do you have? How long since you've been drawing digitally?
I have this crappy, Genius Mouse Pen tablet i bought... 5 years ago or so xD But it still works and until it dies I won't buy another! I'm saving for an Intuos though *_* My first steps with digital drawing were the minute I bought this tablet, yet I think that I didn't know what to do or how to use it until last year.

:iconheroika: asked (translated as well):
:bulletblack:Why do you sing so good?
First of all, thank you! xD Poor unfortunate souls who listened to my wretched screams on last LS!
Unlike drawing, I've been "seriously" singing from a very early age. I joined my school's children choir when I as 8 or so, and I joined the "serious" choir at ten (earlier than the others). I had singing lessons in the conservatory for a year as well. I dropped off the choir when I was 17 because I didn't have a good relationship with the director. Unfortunately, being a musician is really demanding and when I started Law School when Highschool was over (yes, I studied Laws for a year and a half until I decided to study Fine Arts xD) I had no time nor patience to keep practicing. So most of my practice in the last years has been.. The shower and karaoke? xD

My voice has changed with time though. When I was younger I had this really high pitched voice (frankly annoying sometimes) so I was training as a Soprano Coloratura, but now I'm more like a Mezzo... Probably smoking killed my register but I like my "recent" voice better.

:iconelyra-coacalina: asked:
:bulletblack:If you were an animal, which one would you be ? ^^
Uff, difficult question xD
If I was given the choice, I'd chose a cat. I just ADORE cats, they are intelligent, great hunters and, as all felines, so beautiful! They are cute killing machines (that's the way I call my cat sometimes xD) Besides, they do not trust you immediately, you need to gain their trust and love, but once you're there, they're really faithful animals, and they love to cuddle and purr! I can be just like that... So, either you love them or you hate them! I do not have many friends and I'm not as easygoing as I'd like but I'm really close to those I love.

And I even purr sometimes xD

:iconangiepureheart: asked:
:bulletblack:Which Wheel of Time book is your favourite?
Humm... My favourites must be A Crown of Swords and The Eye of the World! And I love New Spring as well *_*

:bulletblack:Do you have any other favourite books?
I'm a big Fantasy fan, so apart from WoT I recently fell in love with A Song of Ice and Fire books! And J.R.R all Tolkien's Legendarium, so The Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion and Hobbit have a special place in my heart.
I also enjoy historical novels, my favourites are I, Claudius written by Robert Graves and The Name of The Rose, by Umberto Eco.

:bulletblack:Do you get inspired by these?
Of course they are a source of inspiration. I'm a fanart freak! I need to see my personal images of the characters I'm reading about...
They are also really helpful when it comes to writing: reading is fundamental in writing. You learn vocabulary,  you can notice the different styles the authors use and you can learn ways to develop characters. Of course, all the work must be yours in the end, it's not about copying good authors but learning why they are good.

:icongnewi: asked:
:bulletblack:Which artist from the past do you feel has influenced you, or impressed you, the most?
The art from Gothic to Rennaissance impressed me a lot. Gothic cathedrals are heaven on earth *_* I had the chance to visit many while travelling with my greandparents in Europe when I was a child. From Rennaissance, Leonardo and Michelangelo are sublime. I actually almost cried once when seeing close ups from Michelangelo's Pietá html.rincondelvago.com/0007774….

Art pieces form the Barroque period are also amazing. Rembrandt (www.thefastertimes.com/overloo…) and Caravaggio (upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia…) are two of my favourite painters of all time and  Bernini, my favourite sculptor! From his work, my favourites are St. Teresa's Ecstasy (alexcolao.files.wordpress.com/…) and The Rape (or abduction, which sounds a little better) of Persephone (lh4.ggpht.com/-9ePcZ1jf8wQ/RR7…).

After that, the Pre-Raphaelites such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti (4.bp.blogspot.com/-xmVeH2M-hXA…) have had a big influence on me, as well as Art Nouveau artists such as Alphonse Mucha (4.bp.blogspot.com/-PIpS03fgAOw…) and Aubrey Beardsley (uploads5.wikipaintings.org/ima…).

:bulletblack:Out of all the books you have read, is there a particular character that reminded you of yourself? One you especially could relate to?

Hmm, that's really difficult xD Some times you relate to a part of the character or some part of their stories, but it's hard to find just one in particular... But I think that from all the books I've read, I alays felt really close to Nynaeve al'Meara from the Wheel of Time xD We're both strong willed and it's quite hard for us to control our emotions. Nynaeve is fiercely devoted to those she loves and to the causes she thinks are just, that is something I can relate to. On the bad side, we can be stubborn and controlling, even a little self-centered. She uses her healing abilities to help all those around her who need it, and that is a talent I'd love to posses ;D

:iconthepoeticpaladin: asked:
:bulletblack:What's your favorite style of art? Both to work with, even if you don't do it often, or to see from others.
I love drawing. Both traditionally and digitally, realistic or comic/manga/whatever style. I think that lines have their own way of expressing themselves, a flowiness that it's hard to achieve in other media. But I also love painting. As an Art Student I have to paint A LOT but I prefere to show other kind of work here, but I'm learning to paint digitally and it has helped me a lot to develop some other aspects of my style which I couldn simply achieve using lines or coloring them.

Now, let us know the first three places!

:bulletpink::bulletred: 3rd Place :bulletred::bulletpink:

The feeling between the two characters, their love and affection, are so evident and beautiful in this drawing. Besides, the author portrayed them really well, capturing their features and emphasizing their coloring to create a wonderful atmosphere.  The bold colors that were chosen represent the characters and their personalities really well, specially their passionate relationship. The way he is holding Taera's chin and the color of her skin in contrast with her blue hair looks so beautiful! And her expression, affectionate yet seductive, represents really well her feelings towards her lover.
The technique used, colored pencils, adds a nice texture to the piece and the whole scene fits very well with the theme of our contest.

Thank you so much :iconmrinx: for your entry! And congratulations!

This entry was perharps the most romantic and detailed. The way Emrah is playing with Jurre's hair...! Small details such as their skin tone, features, and even Emrah's ring, everything was present, you can recognize Jurre and Emrah immediately. The deep wine colour of the sheet was really well chosen, it brings the characters out. The colors chosen for their skin and eyes make a great contrast between them. Their expressions are also really cute, romantic and gentle!

This was really hard to chose, but we must admit that the minute we saw this entry, we fell in love. Not only because of it's beauty, but because it really fitted our characters so well! The author stayed within the colors that were chosen for the characters and tied the colors together very well! The greens and blues and even a little orange are woven throughout the piece, even into the background. There's a lot of movement in the composition and a great attention to detail: the puckers and designs in Anne's dress, Jurre's sword, Anne's pendent, and the scenic background. Jurre looks so protective and strong and Anne looks fragile, yet strong and misterious as well. The whole theme and even the title title tied the two worlds together. Truly amazing how one title and scenery could fit both our stories so well.
Technically, the entire piece looks very professional. Their features are lovely, and they are easily recognized as their character.

Congratulations :iconmirriluna:, and thank you so so much for participating!

:bulletred:1. The artist who drew this piece is really gifted. He made the whole piece, even without color, really atmospheric. His lines are really flowy and organic, and his style certainly unique. The pose of the characters looks loving and Merem expression really catches your eyes. Thanks you so much :icongrafnarq: for your beautiful entry!

Jurre and Merem by grafnarq

:bulletred:2. The pose and atmosphere of this picture are gorgeous, and it was really creative. Taera looks so peaceful, yet her emotions are misterious, one wonders of what is she thinking at the momenth. A love between a mother and her child is probably one of the strongest bonds. The attention :iconnaay-atsuara: put to detail in her entry is great, she even included the dark line which appears in a pregnant women's belly known as "Linea Negra" (thank you Gnewi for teaching me this name xD). Dearest friends, watchers and random deviants. Gnewi and I have decided to host a contest!!! (yaaaay! :la:) I had the idea on my mind for some time so I asked her if she'd like to organize a contest with me about our characters and she said yes! We're really excited because it is the first time we do it and it's an oportunity to introduce our characters, as well as a great way to have fun!
If you'd like to donate prizes (of any kind) or advertise our contest we would be extremely grateful (:

I can't believe time passed so quickly! It feels like yesterday when Gnewi and I planned the contest!
I'm really happy we decided to do this. It was our first contest, a great experience and a fun way to introduce our characters to you (: I enjoyed this experience a lot, and I'm sure Gnewi did as well! Now we will take some time to decide the winners (and create some expectation, of course xD)

First, we would like to thank everyone who participated; thank you so much for your wonderful entries, for your hard work, support and we really hope you had fun while drawing. It's great to see our characters from your eyes and point of view, and in your unique styles! This contest wouldn't have been anythign without your talent and enthusiasm!

We would also like to thank all the people who shared this contest, the ones who supported us, and those who donated prizes and features

I know of two other deviants who are hosting amazing contests, so if you're in a contest mood and feel like drawing, please check:
Unlikely Friends OC Contest - Closed:iconlaexcitedplz: The Contest is now over and oh my gosh! There had been so many brilliant and very creative entries, I think it's going to be very hard to judge. :giggle: Thank you to everyone who had participated and donated a prize.
Judging will commence shortly.  Stay tuned! :eager:

Welcome to my first ever contest, I hope it will be a blast!  I am very excited. :happybounce:
themes and objectives
The theme is very simple.   As a lover of World Crossovers, this contest will be about that.  Your Characters and Mine.   But it's not just ANY world crossover; I believe this one should be imaginative at best.
The Objective is rather simple;
Choose one of my characters and pair them up with one of yours, but not just ANY character. One who you think would be the most unlikely or forbidden friend to my own.
Imagine a scene or situation where they would have met each other, and illustrate them in that situation and scene.

Time Machine Contest CLOSED Ok! So here we are. The contest is officially closed. I can't believe it. So many entries!!! I never expected 30 entries for a contest about my OCs!!! I'm so happy and excited!! I really want to thank every participant! I love every single entry! Each one is special for some reason: originality, sympathy, kindness, beauty, the story it tells, creativity, technique... etc, etc...
I already know it will be SO difficult to pick the winners! I really would like to reward everyone! It will not be easy at all to choose only 3 of these entries!
However I will need a few days to vote, so stay tuned!
I want to thank to every participant, to the kind contributors, without whom this contest would not have been possible, to my lovely AngelLale87 that will have to share with me the difficulty of the judjing, and the groups that will support my contest.
:heart:THANK YOU.
